Ma.K Prowler – Post painting January 20, 2021 by admin Onto the final stages for the Prowler, applying decals, panel lining, and weathering! The first post-painting step is to apply the water slide decals that come with the kit, and I have to say they are really nice looking decals. Decals applied!Next is panel lining using an enamel wash. This time I’m going with a custom dark blue for the panels, and plain black to emphasize the scratches. Panel lines and scratches emphasized! You will also notice that there are small darkened spots on the teal section. These were added in for variation in the paint job. I used multiple custom mixes of acrylic paints to create this effect. Firstly by painting it on using a narrow tipped brush … … and secondly, by dabbing on with a small piece of torn up sponge.Hold the sponge with a pair of tweezers, dip it into your paint of choice, …… remove the majority of it, …… then gently and carefully dabbing tiny splashes of paint onto the model. You can see here that I’ve added a few white spots onto the moon decal giving the illusion that the decal is wearing away. That’s the final WIP for the Prowler. Next week will be the gallery and thoughts on the kit. Related
